Heavy Equipment Operator

Description

Avail Valley Construction is seeking a skilled and safety‑focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, operates machinery with precision, and contributes to a productive and safe jobsite environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy construction equipment and be committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship.

 

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating equipment such as excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, and skid steers. You’ll support excavation, grading, trenching, road building, utility installation, and other civil construction activities. You will also be responsible for performing daily equipment inspections, reporting maintenance needs, and helping maintain a clean and organized work area.

Job sites in eastern Idaho or Wyoming

Monday-Friday, some Saturdays possible

Key Responsibilities 

  • Safely operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, graders, and dozers

  • Perform excavation, grading, trenching, and material handling tasks

  • Follow site plans, grade stakes, and directions from supervisors

  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and document findings

  • Report mechanical issues and assist with basic equipment maintenance

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

  • Follow all company safety policies and regulations

  • Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors

  • Assist with labor tasks when equipment operation is not required

Description

Avail Valley Construction is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our Victor office. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping others, keeps a positive attitude, and maintains a clean and welcoming work environment.

 

As our Receptionist, you will greet visitors warmly, answer incoming phone calls, and support our team with day‑to‑day office tasks. You will also be responsible for general office upkeep, including cleaning duties. This position plays a key part in creating a professional and comfortable atmosphere for employees, clients, and vendors.

Construction Laborer

Avail Valley Construction is seeking a hardworking, dependable, and safety‑minded Construction Laborer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, thrives in an outdoor environment, and takes pride in contributing to high‑quality construction projects across Eastern Idaho and Wyoming.

As a Construction Laborer, you will support a variety of tasks on our civil construction job sites. Responsibilities include site cleanup, material handling, assisting equipment operators, preparing work areas, and performing physical labor such as shoveling, raking, compacting, and installing pipe or utilities. This position is essential to keeping projects running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

  • Assist equipment operators with ground support and jobsite preparation

  • Follow directions from supervisors and work well within a crew

  • Comply with all company safety policies and requirements

Trucking Superintendent/Dispatch 

Description

Avail Valley Construction is seeking an experienced Trucking Superintendent/Dispatch professional to oversee and manage all aspects of our fleet operations, dispatch coordination, and regulatory compliance. This leadership role requires extensive knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations, contract management, and construction logistics. 
 
Location 

Work out of the Afton, WY or Victor, ID office  
Monday-Friday, some Saturdays possible

7:30am to 4:30pm (may vary) 
 
Key Responsibilities 

Fleet Management & Dispatch Operations 

  • Oversee daily dispatch operations for all company-owned and subcontracted vehicles 

  • Coordinate trucking schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to construction sites 

  • Optimize routing and load planning to maximize efficiency and minimize costs 

  • Maintain real-time communication with drivers regarding schedules, routes, and job site requirements 

  • Monitor fleet performance metrics including on-time delivery rates, fuel efficiency, and equipment utilization 

  • Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and third-party carriers

FMCSA/DOT Compliance & Safety 

  • Ensure full compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations (49 CFR Parts 382, 383, 390-399) 

  • Maintain DOT compliance for all commercial motor vehicles and drivers 

  • Oversee Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) implementation 

  • Manage driver qualification files (DQF) and ensure all required documentation is current 

  • Coordinate and maintain Drug and Alcohol Testing Program (49 CFR Part 382) 

  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective action plans 

  • Ensure proper vehicle inspections (DVIR - Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports) 

  • Maintain accident reporting procedures and manage post-accident investigations 

  • Oversee implementation of company safety policies and driver training programs 

  • Maintain DOT Safety Rating and work to improve CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) scores
